This was our last home game. The week prior we had an away game, Jayse didn’t play he was sick all week and missed school, practice and the game. They played Timberline and lost 42-10.

Through out the season Jayse had been playing less and less. We still don’t know why. Seemed as though through the whole season only the seniors played the whole games. It was so frustrating.

The frustration bubbled over this game. I could tell it was building in Greg, I thought we should just leave the game early. We were losing by a large margin again and Jayse hadn’t played hardly at all. Greg wanted to stay so we did. In the last minute he lost it and started screaming at the refs then the coaches. He ended up being escorted out by the athletic director. Not a great moment.

Jayse told us after the game the only reason he to go to go in the one play he did was because a senior told the coach they should put Jayse in.

Once again, we lost 45-21.

A few days later Greg got a call from Boise PD that said he was not allowed back to the football games for the remainder of the season. We had one more game left.

By the end of the season Jayse was no longer having fun with football. He didn’t feel a part of the team, he was not having a good time. Felt like he was putting in a lot of effort but getting nothing out of it. He quit 2 days before the last game.

He’s not sure he’ll play next year. I sure hope so. I’d hate for 10 years of football to end this way.
