Jayse had his very last visit to his surgeon. We literally met Dr. Griffiths on the day he was born. He came in to tell us what it mean Jayse had a cleft lip and palate and what his future looked like. He was so reassuring and made us feel so much better back then. We have trusted him from that day on. That he had the best interest of Jayse in mind.
He loves to use metaphors in explaining things. It makes it very easy to understand the processes and why and what is needed to be done. Things like baseball and using a house and its foundation as visuals.
It was a bit bitter sweet that this was coming to an end. So glad Jayse has no more surgeries but it’s a bit strange not to go to the office anymore and see his team of specialists. We’ve been going there just about every year since he was born.
During our last visit I had to get pictures of everyone.
Here is Jayse with Dr. Griffiths. He is the one on the right. He recently added Dr. Gage to his team. Dr. Gage is the one that did Jayse’s last surgery on his nose.

And I made Star get in the picture. She’s the office manager and I have talked to her so many times of there years. Lots of talk about insurance. She has helped us in so many ways. Finding the best way for us to save. Gosh just so grateful for this whole team!

Throughout the years they’ve taken pictures of Jayse and his progress. They put all the pictures on a flash drive for me. It’s fun to go back and see all these photos. Can’t believe how different he looks.
Wow he was so small, Jayse’s head is about as big as Greg’s hand.

This was on the day of his first surgery, when he was only 3 months old.

So glad they got these pictures of his teeth. I don’t think we’ve ever taken pictures to show how his teeth started.

5 years of braces, such a big difference!

The hair in the next few! Oh my gosh.

These were taken before his nose surgery.

And these are the after. I don’t see much of a difference. I think the biggest change is in his airways and breathing, not so much the look.
