Usually for Mother’s Day I like to take the boat out and take pictures of the Heron’s and their baby birds but our boat was out of commission so I decided I wanted to go to the property instead.
I am going through it with perimenopause. Let me tell you, it is whooping my butt. I can’t sleep so on this day I was up really early and just went out onto the deck. I made myself some hot cocoa, lit the fire table and listened to an audio book. It was a very nice morning despite not being able to sleep.
As everyone else started to wake up they made me breakfast while I continued to chill on the deck. After breakfast we all got ready and loaded up the car to head out to the property. I wanted to stop on our way back and go paddleboard/kayaking so we loaded those up as well.
We got out to the property and it was a really nice day. We walked around and saw all the work Greg had been doing. We now had a pad for the tiny cabin. We drove up there with my car and parked. It was pretty cool standing up there where we will be building a little place. I took a few pictures of the kids and then we decided to go on a drive with the ranger. There was a trail Greg had wanted to try.
The trail was bumpy, dusty and we had lots of limbs whacking us but it was beautiful. Nothing beats those mountain views. When we got back we set up a table and had a nice little picnic.
Sadly, the weather was turning and by the time we left and got to the spot I wanted to paddleboard/kayak it was windy and cold. We decided against it. We went home, had a nice dinner and enjoyed the deck some more. The kids made dinner, got me a cake and a nice hanging flower.
Haha, yikes look at all those grey hairs!

French toast is one of my favorites! They did such a good job.

Our first picture up on the pad for the tiny cabin.

Jaelee got this picture of us.

Turkey vulture flying around up above. One of my favorite birds.

Finally sort of got a picture of a Blue Jay.

Saw another Skink, he’s hidden.

Back home and back on the deck.
