After last season we were not sure Jayse was going to play football again. He did not participate in the spring training.

However, at the end of the school year they announced that they were replacing the entire football coaching staff. We went to the meeting and met the new head coach. We felt really good about it so Jayse decided he would give football one last year.

He did all the summer practices and camps. I was so glad he decided to play his senior year. We were really hopeful this year would be different. The coach had said he wouldn’t be able to make a champions in a year but we would see an improvement.

We got our first chance to see that at the Jamboree in Mountain Home. We were happy. We could see that there had been improvement. I don’t know that they blew anyone away but we hung in there. Which was an improvement over last year when we were just getting blown away.

They needed kids to play the corner position, even though Jayse had never played it he volunteered.

Jayse had an injury on his arm from practice. It started to bleed pretty bad during the game.
