Greg was at the property so I went up to spend time with him. I went up on Saturday evening we had dinner and then we went for a 4 wheeler ride. He wanted to take me to this bluff he knew about to watch the sunset. It was beautiful. The view was gorgeous and the sunset was so pretty. We had a great time.
I decided to stay the night out there, even though it’s not very comfortable. The bed in our camper is too small for us.
I slept ok. Greg got up earlier then me and started his hike. I planned to go hiking too. I started out and made it to the road in the middle of our property. I felt pretty good so I decided to go higher. I saw this bluff with a lot of trees and found a trail that went up there so I decided to take it. On my way up I saw signs of animal beds – later Greg said probably deer. Then I saw signs of bear. There were a lot of rotted trees torn to shreds. It was a little freaky but Greg had made me bring a gun so I was alright.
Once I decided to go back down I couldn’t find the trail to get back down. I kept going different ways to try and find my trail. I eventually found it and made it about half way back down to the middle road. I had made marks in the dirt on my way up thinking that would help me on my way down. It did not. After I lost the trial again I could not pick it back up. I could see the road below me but could not find the trail and it was a straight hill down. I eventually just decided to slide the rest of the way down.
When I got back above our camp. Greg came out of the camper and said he was just about to come look for me. He had gone hiking, gotten back, made breakfast and was on his last bite before he was going to come find me. My legs were jello when I got back. I was so glad to have some breakfast to sit down and eat.
Right when we got to the bluff we saw this perfect little Christmas tree.

Greg’s progress on the sawmill structure.

Went to the creek to cool down after our hike. Also, the day before Greg had taken more brush out with his machete. We were able to walk up the creek a bit.
