I LOVE D3, seriously one of my favorites. It’s so entertaining and fun to watch. Especially knowing how much everyone of those kids put into it – the time and commitment.
My mom and brother went with us. We all went and ate at Olive Garden before going. I drove separate because I wanted to stay and watch a lot more then Greg and Hunter. After dinner on the way down to BSU we saw this really cool rainbow/pink in the sky. I took a picture of it while driving, whoops – just had to.
It had been raining all day so Greg and I went and bought a bunch of ponchos. The stadium doesn’t allow umbrellas. We layered as much as we could.
When we got there, there was a massive line. We only had 40 minutes before they performed I was so worried we weren’t going to make it. When we got in the line we were so far away. I called another parent and asked if they were there yet. I was hoping maybe we could go get in line with them if so. She let me know that there was a lightening delay. They had asked everyone to leave the stadium and delayed the show. When the lightening passed everyone got in line to go back in. So we had plenty of time. They were behind and had paused everything. So now we got to see more shows then we expected before Jaelee’s band. I loved it but the weather was not fun sitting there.
Jayse and his girlfriend Emma met us there. They had gone to a hot springs earlier in the day and thought they would be late but because of the delay they got there in plenty of time.
We all put our ponchos on. It didn’t rain for too long. I took my poncho off when the rain stopped and put it right back on. It actually helped with the wind as well.
When the band came out we all screamed for Jaelee – I asked her later and she said she didn’t hear us, dang it! It’s always so fun to see them perform from up that high in the stadium. You can see the formations so much better. Greg took video and I took photos. The show was so good! They did awesome. I think again this year they were the biggest band in the Treasure Valley. Love it because it makes them louder and covers more of the field.
After the show Greg, Hunter, Emma & Jayse left. My mom and I stayed to watch the last few bands, BSU and listen to the awards. BSU puts on an awesome show. They seem to be having so much fun.
Jaelee’s marching band got 4th overall.
