Jaelee Dance Recital

Before I start with Jaelee’s dance recital I’m just quickly gong to mention that the day before when the world was supposed to end I turned 30!  I can’t believe I’m thirty but I’m actually pretty excited about what’s to come in 30 because life right now is really great.  I am actually freaking out a little bit more about my babies turning 5 in several months.  Just can’t believe how fast it has gone!

Anywho on Dec. 22nd Jaelee had her first dance recital.  We were both so excited!  She had to be there early for her dress rehearsal.  So her and I headed over before everyone else.  It was so cute seeing her backstage with Mia (one of my best friend’s little girl).  They got their outfits on and just played around with each other.  When it was time for them to go out on stage they went out there just fine.  I thought they didn’t know much of a routine but when I saw the dress rehearsal I was pleasantly surprised at how much they did know.  It was so CUTE!

After dress rehearsal the girls had a break to eat a little lunch.  We went out into the lobby and had some sandwiches.  As people started to arrive we went back to the dressing room.

As our friends and family arrived I came out to great them and show them to our seats I had saved.  We were so lucky that my mom and brothers were there, my best friend Amy and our sitter Kristie and her son and of course Jayse and Greg.

While our girls were back stage Theresa and I were able to leave them and take some seats with our family.  We had to watch most of the show before it was the littlest girls turns.  When they came out they looked absolutely adorable.  They did quit well during their dance.  Their first routine was their tap with their friends.  Jaelee kept looking for her teacher to show her what to do.  It was really hard to get pictures because it was so dark except for the bright spot light on the girls but I got a bunch anyway.  We also opened up my Christmas present early so we’d have a video recorder.  I was so happy seeing Jaelee up there and was one proud mama.

After the girls danced their first number there was a intermission.  I went and got Jaelee so she could see everyone.  Kristie had bought Jaelee some flowers and you would of thought it was a million dollars.  They were perfect!  She was so proud to have flowers.  She had to show everyone and tell everyone she saw that those were her flowers.  (When we got home she had to put the flowers in a vase right next to her bed and she wouldn’t let me throw them away for a month!)   Kristie also bought Jaelee and Jayse some new blankets with animal heads.  The kids also loved those.

After intermission Jaelee had to go backstage.  We watched the entire rest of the show as Jaelee’s class was almost the last to perform.  They did their ballet piece to a tangled song.  It was so cute!  Again Jaelee was looking to her teacher most of the time but did pretty dang good.

After all the dances were over we hung out and talked for a while.  Jaelee ran around with her new blanket on her head still telling everyone about her flowers.  I was so happy to see how happy she was and how proud she felt.  It was just such a great moment.

We had made plans to go have some ice cream with Theresa, Mia and their family.  We made our way to the ice cream shop and enjoyed ice cream.

It was such an amazing day!  And it didn’t even end there.  Later that evening we had a bunch of friends over to celebrate my birthday.  We made some delicious food and had a great time!  Couldn’t think of any better way to spend turning 30!
