So after we went swimming Jayse got an ear infection.  On Monday Greg stayed home with him.  Around noon I got a call from the school and I thought it was going to be about Jayse being gone but it wasn’t.

The school nurse said I’m sorry to tell you but there was an accident at school today and we are pretty sure that Jaelee broke her arm.  My heart just sunk I think I said what, Oh My God is she ok?  She said she was ok that she had fallen off the balance beam and used her arm to catch her fall.  The nurse said that they needed 2 people to pick her up.  One to hold her arm and sit with her and one to drive.

I called Greg to tell him to get over to the school but I couldn’t even talk.  I finally was able to spit most of it out and he rushed to the school with Jayse.

I met him at the school to pick up Jaelee and take her to the ER.  She seemed to be doing ok.  They had her arm wrapped up tight to her body.  On the way to the ER she sat in the back with Greg and she was really quiet.  She did tell us though that she heard her arm crack.  Umm that still gives me the goose bumps.

At the ER they put us back into a room right away.  From there however it took forever.  We ended up being their for 6 hours.  She had multiple x-rays, they reset her arm and finally put a splint on it.  It turns out she broke both bones in her arm and the doctor was concerned she may need surgery.  We are still not sure if she’ll need surgery or not.  The orthopedic doctor says it looks pretty good but we wont know for sure until she gets her cast off in 3 weeks.  It has been quite an experience.

I think Jaelee has really liked the attention though.  She got a nice card from her whole class, she’s had everyone sign her sling and her cast and everywhere we go someone asks her about it.  She tells everyone the same thing.  I fell off a balance beam and put all my weight on my arm.
