For our 4th annual Winter Carnival Weekend in McCall we rented a cabin again and headed up on Thursday night. It’s become a tradition to do this with my best friend Amy and her family. We didn’t get there until late so we just hung out for a few minutes got everyone situated where they were sleeping and then headed to bed. My brother Hunter was able to go with us this year. He’d never been to McCall before.
Friday we woke up and headed to the Pancake House for breakfast. The food is really good there and the portions are huge. Exactly the kind of place we like! Unfortunately this trip our wait service was horrible. Food was forgotten, drinks were never refilled, silverware was dirty and our check was completely messed up. Luckily the food was still largely portioned and good. We also got a free cinnamon roll out of the trip and they are huge and delicious!
After breakfast we went back to the cabin and the kids went outside and played in the snow. Jaelee found a swing she loved and Jayse slid down the driveway on his snowboard we bought him for the trip. The cabin we were at last year had these and he loved them and spent so much time outside trying to snowboard that I thought we better get some for this year. Hunter even tried to snowboard too, you’ll see through the pictures he wasn’t successful a time or 2. While sliding down the driveway you’d come out to a rode, cross the road and end in a big pile of snow on the side. Good thing that pile was there because beyond the road was a hill and a lot of trees. The kids had fun trying to get that far and slamm into the wall of snow. We had to have someone at the bottom of the driveway to watch for cars. That was mostly my job so I could multi-task and get pictures as well.
After chilling at the cabin and playing in the snow for a bit we headed back to town to look at the sculptures. Because most people come up Friday evening or Saturday there were not many people in town looking at sculptures which was perfect. We were able to see almost all of them this year. We drove to some that we had never been able to before. There were some pretty great sculptures this year – as there are every year.

Looks like so much fun!
Thank you it was fun, hoping to get the rest of the trip posted but I took too many photos. It’s taking forever!
