Labor Day in OR 2020 – Day 7 River, Again

So day 6 was a total bust. For years I have been telling Greg I want to try clam digging. I finally got a chance this year. It was not fun! I brought boots I’d be ok with getting muddy but I never dreamed I would be up to mud to my thighs! It was so muddy and mucky and there was never any ground I wasn’t sinking into. Not only that but we didn’t get a single clam. I got so tired trudging through the mud and pulling my legs out of thigh deep mud I wanted to just stay there. Greg and to help me get to the shore. By the time I got there I couldn’t breath and thought I was going to pass out. He picked me some blueberries to give me some energy. We got back to the car and I was done. We made it back to the house and right as we pulled in I realized I couldn’t find my phone. I had tucked it into my bra once I started sinking in the mud thinking it would be safe there but somewhere along the trek it must have fallen out. Greg and his dad went back to the muddy muck to find it and luckily Greg walked right out and found it. It was minutes away from being covered by the tide. The rest of the day was spent just chillin’ around the house. Let’s just say I wont be asking to go clam digging again anytime soon.

Day 7 was much better. We decided to go back to the river. Everyone had a really good time there and the weather was just so nice. The kids had a good time jumping off the rocks, floating down the river and playing on the rocks. It was another great day.
