Berlin – First Evening

We had left the US Wednesday morning but between all the travel, flight delay and time change we didn’t get to my sisters until almost 8 pm their time on Thursday.

We left the following day – Friday for Berlin. Luckily our flight was later in the day so we had time to eat some breakfast and get ready. For all our travel in Europe we took Easy Jet’s, they are really cheap. I believe our flight to Berlin was some where between 30-40 Euros. You don’t get to bring much luggage with you, it has to fit under the seat. Fortunately we brought small backpacks for everything.

We arrived at the airport pretty early so we had time to just chill. The kids and I went and got some gelato, yumm! Would never get tired of that stuff.

When it was time to board our plane we lined up. Once through the ticket we through another door and then we had to get on a bus that took us out to plane sitting in the middle of now where. Never experienced that before. They also have 2 doors to load, our seats were in the back so we boarded in the back of the plane.

When we arrived in Berlin – Brandi and Ryan helped us all navigate the train/metro to get to our hotel. We had a bit of a walk to our hotel. I was just soaking in all that I could on the way there. By the time we got to our hotel it was dark and we are all ready for dinner.

Ryan did some research and found a restaurant that wasn’t too far of a walk and sounded good. Turns out it was great! Loved the atmosphere, our waiter was friendly and we had good food.

I had to order my first pretzel in Germany.

In a lot of places in Europe they put their condiments in cones. I think it’s brilliant! They also serve mayo a lot for fries. This particular one had some flavoring and was pretty good.

The pictures don’t do this justice, it was a very beautiful place that was nicely decorated for Christmas.
