Saturday morning we woke up and made our way to Couer d’Alene.
For this trip I didn’t have a lot planned. We just had to be in specific places on specific days. I left everything pretty open. Greg wanted to do some fishing and I knew we’d do some hiking and site seeing. That was about it for planning.
Greg and I had both been to Couer d’Alene but the kids hadn’t so we wanted to stop there. We had reservations at a hotel in Sandpoint so the goal was to make it there by night and rest we’d just see what we wanted to do along the way.
We left Lewiston and drove through Moscow where the University of Idaho is. We passed the most beautiful rolling yellow hills with canola flowers.
Eventually ending up in Couer d’Alene. We parked near the downtown area and walked around to find somewhere to eat for lunch. We all decided on an Italian place, surprise surprise.
They had this picture right behind Jayse of the place I had been just a few weeks prior.

After lunch we walked over the Cour d’Alene resort to walk around the lake.

Jaelee took a bunch of pictures during our trip. This is one of our favorites!

We took a walk out on one of the world’s longest floating boardwalks.

You could tell there is some money in this area. We saw some huge boats and even some sea planes. Greg and I decided one of these years we’d love to go back and get a ride in one of these planes.

After gelato we made our way back to our rental car and headed towards Sandpoint. We arrived there in the afternoon and checked into our hotel. Once we got settled we headed over to Lake Pend Oreille to do some fishing.
We found a beautiful spot and had a nice walk to the water. The weather was perfect and it was nice just hanging out. Jaelee brought some pens along with her and doodled on her legs while the boys fished and I took photos.

Jaelee and I liked these big fluffy dandelions. We tried to get pictures of her blowing them but it didn’t quiet work out but we had fun trying.

I don’t think the guys even got a bite while fishing but I think they had a good time.
After fishing the kids didn’t want to go out to eat, they just wanted to go back to the hotel. We stopped and got them Subway and dropped them off. Greg and I went to a restaurant across the street. It was delicious. We had a nice dinner. Greg normally hates squash but he got salmon with veggies not realizing the veggies were squash. Good thing though because we both loved it. I had to get a picture to try and recreate it.

Meanwhile back at the hotel Jayse took Jaelee’s phone and left some great pictures.
