Another weekend another visit to our place at Thorn Creek. Usually in March we try and go away for the weekend, just the 2 of us. We typically don’t do anything for our actual wedding anniversary because it’s during hunting season so we go in March instead. I had planned to go with our camera club to Malheur Wildlife Reserve but because of higher gas prices – everyone decided not to go. Greg was going to go with me and we were going to make this our weekend away. Since everyone in the club decided not to go we canceled as well. Thought it would be better to save the gas and hotel money. We looked at getting a hotel somewhere else but in the end decided we had a place we could go to to get away and not spend anymore money. So we ended up at our property.

We didn’t have any goals – this was supposed to be a none work weekend and just enjoy. We did take a four wheeler ride. We saw a lot of great views and even found some snow. We made ourself a nice dinner Friday night and Saturday we plugged in our crockpot and made corned beef and cabbage – a tradition for our weekend away. Greg couldn’t help himself and ended up doing some work around the property. Cutting up some logs and milling.

We took our first shower in the Crap Shack. We didn’t have a lot of water so it had to be fast but it was still pretty nice.
