Jaelee’s very last track meet was at the District Championships. She didn’t make it for discus but she did for shot put. She didn’t seem super excited about it and it showed in her throwing. She threw good but not as much as we knew she could.

We knew right away she wasn’t making it to finals so we left after she threw. Her longest throw was: 28′ 0.5″

While it may not have been her best day in the ring, I’m incredibly proud of everything she accomplished over the past few years. She showed up to practices, put in the work, competed when it was hot, cold, windy, or rainy, and represented her school well. Watching this chapter come to a close is bittersweet, but I’m so proud of the athlete—and more importantly, the young woman—she has become.
